Guests will also have access to the two shared bathrooms with showers.

The lodge provides glampers with everything they need, from a fully-equipped kitchen to a lovely deck where stunning sunset views can be admired. It is the perfect place for a getaway where guests can appreciate the tranquil location.

Guests should note that the lodge is only accessible by a 10-minute bush walk up the hill. Luggage transport is possible via prior arrangement.

The lodge is eco-friendly with a spring-fed water source and powered by a mini hydro system. The main building is heated with driftwood from the beach and the kitchen uses gas. The guest rooms do not have power outlets, but guests can charge phones, cameras etc. at the lodge. There is limited Wi-Fi available in the main building.

Guests will have access to a fully-equipped kitchen with an oven, gas hobs, cutlery, utensils, and a refrigerator. There are shared bathroom facilities of two showers and two toilets in the main building. In the lounge, there are books to borrow and CDs to listen to. Guests will also have access to the decks to relax on where there is also a barbecue grill.

The lodge sits on a hillside 100 m above the ocean on the northwest coast where a whole host of outdoor activities await guests. It is situated almost halfway between Punakaiki and Karamea, less than 45 minutes from Charleston and Westport, making it easily accessible. Within minutes, guests will reach miles of unspoiled, deserted beaches, beautiful rivers, and rugged nature trails. Outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife lovers will feel right at home.

Mountain biking is also popular in the area with nearby trails such as the Old Ghost Road and the Denniston Plateau. Denniston also features magnificent views of the Tasman Sea and a historical coal mining settlement. Guests can spend a day in Punakaiki to explore the iconic Pancake Rocks and experience the wonders of the West Coast Heritage highway. In Karamea, they will find the start of the Heaphy Track, one of New Zealand’s famous great walks, and the Oparara Basin, with its spectacular limestone arches and caves. Back at the site, guests can relax on the balcony while watching the stunning sunsets.
