Employees at the resort are eager to assist and want each experience to be uniquely tailored to perfectly fit the guest's view of an ideal holiday spent in Nicaragua. The front desk holds all information on activities around the island, making it easy for guests to partake in as many activities as possible. For example, guests might be interested in catching a surf lesson or two, as San Juan Del Sur boasts some of the very best surfing. Guests can go horseback riding along the beach or take a guided voyage to Granada, Masaya, or Ometepe for a family-friendly activity.
Thrill-seekers might be inclined to try zip-lining through the island and take in the views from great heights and fast speeds, or venture out on a sailboat trip to see more of the island from the water perspective. Guests seeking a less intense experience are encouraged to scope out the resort spa, where luxury treatment and relaxation abound. The resort staff will be willing to help guests coordinate all of these potential activities and make reservations.
Should guests feel inclined to stray from hiking the routes, wandering into town means guests will be able to enjoy delicious meals at any of the multitude of restaurants nearby, although there are two restaurants on the property as well. From Tex-Mex to seafood to true Nicaraguan delicacies, in town, visitors will have the opportunity to try it all and even top it off with a dessert from the bakery, Pan de Vida.
A must-see in San Juan Del Sur is the approximately 440-foot statue of Jesus, one of the 10 largest in the world, called "Christ of Mercy." The statue was finished in 2009 and stands to overlook the bay. Guests who wish to take a guided tour of the island will be taken as close to the statue as possible, although many visitors choose to hike to it as a sort of pilgrimage.
