The Finger Lakes is a region of New York State. It's named for its series of long, thin lakes, and known for its vineyards. On Cayuga Lake, the city of Ithaca is home to Cornell University and its Johnson Museum of Art, showing ancient and modern art in an I.M. Pei–designed building. The surrounding area is marked by high gorges, many with dramatic waterfalls, including Taughannock Falls and Buttermilk Falls. Some must- do's for families here is driving on Watkins Glen International racetrack, create your own glass objects at the Corning Museum of Glass, go horse riding, tour the Rockwell Museum and reward yourself at the end of a one mile, quite leisurely journey through Taughanok State Park with a spectacular waterfall display! Of course, the only way to really make the most out of your trip here is to camp in and amongst the fun!
