Staying at this luxury cabin was absolutely amazing! From the totally private location near Joshua Tree NP, to beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the desert landscape to relaxing by the chiminea outside, to the cozy interior with comfy bed, fully equipped kitchen and candlelit dining, we loved everything about this home away from home. Can’t wait to go back!!!

We had a wonderful time while in this home. Some of the outstanding attributes we appreciated are that everything was clean, organized and well thought out. The owner of the home was communicative throughout the process, easy to reach and shared resources and recommendations to make our trip easier. This included a notebook filled with recommendations, directions and other items that really helped us make the most of our time on the island. There are beach towels, chairs, boogie boards and mats which were easy to find, use and clean when we were done. A personal favorite for me was that the home is filled with art, music and literature. For people who play, there is a beautiful piano. There are also DVD's and music. The paintings are lovely and enriched our experience. The bookshelf filled with literature is diverse and had I taken more time to read would have been much more utilized instead of just appreciated. The kitchen is particularly well-stocked. We brought in our own groceries and perishables, but, it was great to have pots, utensils, spices and cooking oils. The towels and linens provided were also of a superior quality. It felt luxurious and comfortable at the same time. The views are outstanding and the home is set at the top of a hill so there is nothing to block the view of the ocean. Overall, we loved staying here and it felt like home to us while we were travelling. A few items to note (these are not problems, just things I would have liked to know before we arrived) The driveway is steep and a bit challenging to navigate, particularly in heavy rain. We were grateful to have a rental truck that had 4 wheel drive. We selected this home because it was close to the beach and somewhat remote, but, I was a bit surprised about the amount of driving time that the distance required. For instance, driving 10 miles often took 30 minutes. If you are planning to be out and about - plan to drive. We didn't find this problematic, just important to note. The nights were lovely, but, the days got a bit hot and steamy without air conditioning. We didn't mind that (more reason to go to the beach), but, also, a good thing to note. A favorite excursion of ours which was close to the house was to visit the Place of Refuge and Two Step beach/campground. We loved the afternoon we spent there. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. We also stopped at the Painted Church along the way which was beautiful. Overall, this was a great place to spend our time. We traveled with two teens who enjoyed it as well without complaint!!

This place was amazing! It was even better in person than it is in pictures! Plus it's less than 15 minutes to get to downtown Fredericksburg, 25 minutes to Enchanted Rock. It's so peaceful out here. The only noise we heard were the birds and sometimes crickets. And if it's a clear night, look up and be prepared to see more stars than you've ever seen! The cottages themselves are impeccability clean, sheets are extremely soft, pillows are luxurious and fluffy, and the bed is super comfortable! Be prepared for some great nights sleep! I would definitely come stay here again!
