Santa Barbara is a city in central California, with a population of over 90,000 people. The city was colonized by Spaniards which you can see through the Spanish architecture still remaining in many locations around the city. This smaller city is a refreshing break from the more densely populated cities around the state. Santa Barbara is also very beautiful with the backdrop of the Santa Ynez Mountain Range which are part of the Pacific Coast Range. The mountains are a great spot for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. If looking to spend some time near the water, head to East Beach and picnic under the palms. The beach stretches across four miles and offers swimming and boating in the clear ocean, as well as many volleyball courts scattered across the white sand.
