Spring is the time when nature wakes up, the first warm rays of the sun appear and everything starts to blossom with bright colors and attract travelers coming for the first spring camping in the parks and areas, that provide visitors with stunning views of welcoming surroundings. North Carolina is the south eastern state, the nature of which is notable for its scenic mountains, coniferous and deciduous forests, seashores and waterways. The wildlife in the region includes such species as black bears and whitetail deer, who live in the numerous reserves and parks around. Hiking, climbing and fishing are popular outdoor activities of the region. From March to beginning of June is a good time to try the wildflowers trails at the Great Smoky Mountains, Raven Rock State Park or Flower Hill Nature Preserve and to see such flowers as rhododendron, azaleas, lilies and lady slippers.
