The short cold days of winter are finally over and you can start taking advantage of the longer days of sunshine. Plan your spring getaway near Mesa Verde National Park for a great outdoor adventure. Located near the Four Corners landmark in southwest Colorado, there is lots of land to explore and native history to learn in the largest archaeological preserve in the US. Native people once lived and farmed among the barren cliffs and mesa, and have left behind over 600 cliff dwellings and ruins. Be sure to visit these ancient sites to learn how people survived in the desert like atmosphere. Hike or mountain bike through forests of juniper and piñon trees and newly bloomed wildflowers. Make a trip to the nearby San Juan National Forest to find even more trails.
