At the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the Flathead National Forest is one of America’s national treasures. The park lies just south of the Canadian border, and preserves 2.4 million acres of land in the western part of Montana. These conservation efforts are a boon to the bald eagles, timber wolves, Canadian lynx, and bull trout that inhabit the land. In warmer months, hikers and bikers can enjoy trails in many areas of the park, including 38 miles of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail. As if this weren’t enough to have us reaching to book our flight, the park is home to over 1,000 pristine lakes. We are smitten and think you will be too. In anticipation, we have compiled a list of accommodations in the area. Check out our selection of summer rentals in the backyard of Flathead National Forest.
