The historic town of Lisbon sits to the northwest of the White Mountain National Forest, not far from Mount LaFayette, one of New England’s most prominent peaks. The hike to its top, while strenuous, opens up onto one of the best views in New England. The trail features waterfalls and is a wonderful way to feast on summer’s plenty in the form of wild raspberries leading up to the summit. There are many opportunities for rock climbing in the park and the town operates an excellent indoor climbing gym as well, called the North Country Climbing Center. The Ammonoosuc River borders Lisbon’s southwest quadrant, where visitors can enjoy fly fishing or rafting, as well as river kayaking. There is something for everyone in the diverse terrain surrounding Lisbon and Glampers are no exception. Book a luxury tipi or cozy cottage to experience the best of summer in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
