The White Mountains are located in the state of New Hampshire in the United States. Within this region is the White Mountain National Forest, a beautiful scenic destination to escape for a weekend filled with adventure. The park stretches across over 750,000 acres of protected land and is home to a wide range of ecosystems and wildlife. This region has all year round activities including skiing, hiking, kayaking, and camping. One of the top attractions is the Franconia Notch State Park, extending from the Flume Gorge to the Echo Lake. There are number recreational trails for hiking, short walks, and mountain biking. For more of a challenge there is also rock climbing at the Cannon Cliffs. At the end of a trail, tourists have the possibility to see beautiful beaches such as Echo Lake Beach which offers water sports.
