Bled

Located in the northwestern part of Slovenia, Bled is best known for its main attraction: Lake Bled. The lake was formed by glaciers, which left an island in the center of the lake, called Bled Island, and it makes luxury camping in Bled a natural choice. This island holds a handful of buildings, the most notable of which is the church built in the 17th century, the Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church. A heartwarming tradition takes place here on the island when couples decide to get married at the island's church. The groom must carry the bride up the almost 100 steps of the church's tower. From there, the story varies; some say the bride must remain silent as she is carried, and others say that the groom must ring the bell at the top for good luck. There is also a famous castle that overlooks Lake Bled. Straying from the lake, Bled offers a stunning, mountainous landscape, filled with greenery, in which visitors can explore neighboring villages and parks, like Triglav National Park and the village of Bohinjska Bela. Glamping in Bled is sure to be an experience travelers will hold onto forever.
