This thatch-canopy lodge getaway rental in the Western Cape, South Africa, is located on the shores of the beautiful Trou River and can accommodate three guests. There is one bedroom and one ensuite bathroom. The bedroom has a king-size bed, which can be made into twins if needed, and is beautifully decorated with a thatch canopy roof and rich, earthy tones to reflect the South African landscapes beyond. In the bathroom, guests will find a toilet, a sink, a high-pressure shower, and corner bathtub. Linens and towels are provided.
In the suite, guests will find a living area complete with a pull-out sofa bed for a third guest if needed, plus tea and coffee-making facilities. Outside, there is a shaded seating area with beautiful river views.
Built in the 1920s, this award-winning guest lodge offers incredible views over the sparkling Trou River lagoon and surrounding tree-covered mountainside, which can be enjoyed from the large garden containing 400-year-old milkwood trees and its very own plunge pool.
Relaxation and tranquility can easily be found on one of the many shaded wooden decks, including a floating deck, or on the communal terrace where guests can sit back and watch ducks, kingfishers, dabchicks, and fish at play.
For cooler days or nights, a cozy lounge with fireplace and comfy chairs is open to all guests.

Thrill-seekers can brave a 45-meter abseil in the Kaaimans River Gorge, try river or sea canoeing, paragliding, or zip-line canopy tours in the Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest.
Nature lovers can take full advantage of the abundant local flora and fauna nearby with one of the world's largest bird parks, The World of Birds, the Monkeyland Sanctuary, and the Knysna Elephant Park all nearby, as well as game viewing, horse riding, whale watching, and even shark cage diving with Shark Africa!
There are numerous drives, beaches, forest walks and scenic day trips from which glampers can soak up the unique vistas of the Garden Route. In addition, golfing, market shopping, swimming, spa treatments, and restaurants are all within close proximity.
