Castillejar

On the banks of the river Guardal, the pretty and unspoiled little town of Castillejar lies almost 800 metres above sea level, high up in the glorious mountains of Andalucia. This is a haven for those who want to experience the true culture of Spain without the high-rise hotels and busy beaches. High up in the mountains, the fresh air and cool breeze will soothe you: the rememnats of Iberian culture and history will educate you, and the beautiful natural parks of Castril, Cazorla, and Sierra will delight you. If it gets a little bit too hot in that summer sun, take a dip in the nearby lakes of Negratin or San Clemente. The opportunities for outdoor recreation are endless, so prepare for an active and healthy Spanish holdiay!
