"I loved my stay, I hope to be staying there again someday. As I normally rough it in a bush or woods someplace, the camp site was like a five star ho…"

For the ideal glamping getaway in Yorkshire in northern England, guests can stay at one of these hobbit house-style rentals, each of which can accommodate up to four guests. Each hobbit house comes with a double bed and two single beds, one of which is bunked over the aforementioned double bed.

In addition, there is upcycled furniture, including chairs, benches, and tables, all of which have been made from wooden pallets and decking. There are also fairy lights, a portable single gas stove, a kettle, a log-burning stove, and plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs, glasses, and barbecue tools. Outside, each hobbit house has its own private fire pit.

There is no electricity inside, but there are solar lights. Guests will need to bring their own bedding (sheet, duvet or sleeping bag, and pillows). They may want to bring sitting chairs for cozying up around the fire pit, too. Other suggested items to bring include dishcloths, a bag of tealights, and gas canisters for the camping stove (though these are also sold on-site). The hosts recommend that guests bring slippers or something similar for inside the pods, as no outdoor shoes are allowed to be worn inside.

A £50 refundable damage deposit will be requested two weeks prior to arrival. This is returned 7-10 after departure.

There is plenty of space and a new heated log amenity building where the showers are as warm as the welcome. In keeping with the campfire theme, the water is heated by a wood-fired boiler and there is a heat recovery system to help the site stay as eco-friendly as possible.

There is a food preparation room, a modern heated toilet, and a shower block with privacy cubicles, free showers, and a disabled toilet and shower on site, while all electricity is supplied by Ecotricity who maintain that all electricity comes from renewable energy sources. Guests will also see that only solar-powered lights are used around the campsite.
