Authentic Mongolian Yurt for Getaways in Devon
Yurt in Okehampton, England
6 guests • 4 beds
Always wanted to spend the night in an authentic Mongolian Yurt?! The ultimate eco-glamping stay, this is your opportunity to get offline and re-connect to nature, cozied up in the heart of the Devon countryside surrounded by wide open spaces, unbeatable views, and stunning rolling hills. Traditionally hand painted and authentically lined with horse and yak hair, the yurt has been imported from Mongolia and offers a truly unique Devon countryside escape.
Deceptively roomy, the yurt can comfortably sleep up to 6 people, offering a double bed, 2 single day beds, and two single futons. If there are fewer guests, the additional day bed can be taken out to optimize the living space. A wood-burning stove means you will all be warm and toasty throughout your stay, and underfoot, coir matting and rugs will keep your feet warm whatever the weather outside. Add in the privacy and comfort of your own private kitchen space and individual shower room a short distance from the yurt, and you have a truly luxurious yurt getaway!
You’ll find all the bedding, sheets, and blankets required inside – perfect for getting super cozy! The well-equipped kitchen has all the amenities and equipment you need to whip up an easy supper to enjoy in your cozy surroundings, there is even a complimentary bag of logs waiting for you to stoke up the fire on arrival.
The shower room is located within a block a short distance away, although is a private facility for your exclusive use during your stay, comprising a modern shower enclosure, toilet, and basin.
The yurt comes with its own private decking area and BBQ – perfect for hazy, warm summer evenings dining al fresco, and amazing star-gazing after dark.
Proudly off-grid - solar power provides enough lighting to relax, so put away those phones and enjoy the rural charm and peace of the surrounding countryside.
Oaktree Lane is a natural glamping and camping site which attempts to be as environmentally friendly as possible in every way, for minimum-impact holidays that bring maximum well-being to guests. Fresh eggs and local produce are available to buy on-site, rainwater is collected and re-used, and solar power and LED lighting are used where possible, with motion sensors for lights in kitchen and washroom areas and minimal electricity use.
Recycling points are provided across the farm for the use of guests; this significantly reduces the amount of waste that goes into landfill. Food waste is also gathered and composted. To help further, bring a refillable water bottle and make the most of the excellent quality drinking water available at Oaktree Lane.
Locally, there is plenty to see and do, and Oaktree Lane is ideally located with easy access to both Devon and Cornwall. The only thing you need to decide is where you’ll head first and how you’ll fit it all in!
