The décor of all self-catering holiday apartments is contemporary and well-appointed throughout. Views from the platform and from all the carriages are across open countryside. Two of the three rail cars have private platform areas suitable for barbecues. The most luxurious rail car even features an enclosed garden.

The Lady Deramore: This is a first-class accommodation! It boasts a double bedroom with an en-suite Jacuzzi bath in the bathroom, twin singles with an en-suite bathroom and an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. Enjoy the beautiful open views and private garden.

The Derwent Flyer: This railcar has a flexible, well laid out design. There is a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom, a shower room and a futon in the lounge. There is also a separate kitchen, lounge and dining area. You can also enjoy the private platform as a patio.

The Derwent Mail: This open-plan accommodation has a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom and a shower room. You can use the private platform as patio area. Additionally, the Derwent Flyer and Derwent Mail can be opened up as one for big groups or families.

With immediate access to Skipwith Common, these glamping carriages are an ideal base for nature lovers. Skipwith is also on the outskirts of York and Selby, both offering a wealth of attractions, from the National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre in York to Selby's famous Abbey. Both cities offer enjoyable shopping opportunities, and York has the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet and Park and Ride.

Enjoy the beautiful garden at this glamping site, or even play badminton or croquet during your stay. Other activities to fill your time include walking through the lovely woodland to Skipwith Common, which is a gorgeous national nature reserve. Additionally, there are lots of things to do in the city of York, which is just 30 minutes away. Local points of interest include York Minster, Jorvik Centre, National Railway Museum and so much more.

This glamping site is an ideal base for a quiet holiday in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The railcars are quirky, clean, well laid out and first class! Pleasant walks straight from your carriage to Skipwith Common Nature Reserve and on a 15-minute walk through the woods to The Drovers Arms pub in Skipwith Village. The site can accommodate two to 12 persons so why not book more than one carriage.
