Scenic views
This accommodation is located at a bed and breakfast lodge in Daviot, Scotland, which is a small rural village situated just six and a half miles to the southeast of Inverness, the largest city and cultural epicenter of the Highlands. Set on an 80-acre property full of meadows and surrounded by scenic countryside, the lodge's location provides guests with an opportunity to relax in a peaceful, rustic setting while at the same time enjoying convenient proximity to both the attractions of the city and the natural splendor of the surrounding lochs, mountains, moorlands, forests, beaches, cliffs, and parklands.

A variety of forests laced with hiking and biking trails can be found within a half-hour radius of the bed and breakfast lodge, including Blackmuir Wood, Craig Phadraig, Culloden Woods, Littlemill Forest, Monadh Mor, Reelig Glen, and Daviot Wood. The latter can be accessed from the A9 picnic area just two miles from the lodge. Here, guests will find a three-mile loop trail that winds through a forest filled with pine and larch trees and dotted with woodland pools. The trees provide habitats for deer and owls, while the pools provide breeding grounds for dragonflies.

About 20 minutes to the southeast, guests will enter the northwestern periphery of Cairngorms National Park. Centered around the glacial mountain range for which it is named, the park is the largest national park in the entire British Isles, boasting 1,748 square miles of mountains, heather moorlands, peatlands, grasslands, wetlands, lochs, rivers, and forests filled with aspen, birch, juniper, and Scots pine trees. These unspoiled natural environments provide habitats to a wide variety of birds and mammals, including golden eagles, ospreys, red squirrels, roe deer, and the only herd of free-roaming reindeer in the United Kingdom.

About 25 minutes to the southwest, guests will find the famous Loch Ness. While the latter may be best known for the legendary Loch Ness Monster, it is also a natural attraction in its own right. Stretching 22.5 miles in length, encompassing 21.8 miles of surface area, and reaching depths of 755 feet, it is the largest loch (the Scottish word for lake) in all of the British Isles, in terms of water volume. A variety of fish live in the loch, including northern pike, Atlantic salmon, brook lampreys, and brown trout, while otters forage along its coastal waters and roe deer wander the forests that surround it.

The lodge is only eight minutes from Culloden Moor, where guests will find the Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns. It is just 15 minutes from Inverness, where guests will find a variety of shops and restaurants, along with attractions such as the Inverness Botanic Gardens, the Merkinch Local Nature Reserve, the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery and Inverness Castle. The city is also home to an international airport and a ScotRail train station with direct connections to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
