About this place
This beautiful dog-friendly cottage rental is located on an organic sheep farm near Castle Douglas. It can accommodate up to six guests. There are three spacious bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The bedrooms each come with two cozy single beds, and all have their own distinctive theme and decor. Glampers can choose between African, Florentine, and Scottish design, and will enjoy a lovely, relaxing ambiance, no matter which room they opt for. The guest rooms all have a snug sitting area and a flat-screen television. In each of the bright and modern ensuite bathrooms, guests will find a toilet, a sink, and a shower and bathtub combination. Freshly-laundered linens and towels are provided by the host.
The open-plan layout of the living, dining, and kitchen areas are ideal for socializing, entertaining, and spending quality time with family and friends. In the warm and welcoming lounge, guests will find large and plush velvet sofas, along with a further television, a DVD player, and an MP3 docking station. French doors open to the outside and allow in plenty of natural light. The fully equipped kitchen comes with a refrigerator, a freezer, an oven, a stove, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a toaster, and a dishwasher, along with an array of handy dishes and utensils. Meals and drinks can be enjoyed at the dining table, which has seating for all six glampers. Other amenities in the cottage include heating, Wi-Fi, and a washing machine. The host can provide a highchair and a baby’s crib upon request.
Outside, there is a charming courtyard with relaxing outdoor furniture and a lovely water feature. A gas barbecue is available to borrow from the host for delicious summer cook-outs. Guests will have the freedom to roam the surrounding country estate, which includes an orchard, a loch, and 1,000 acres.
Dogs are £10/night each or £30 for a week.
Those traveling by car will find plenty of free parking available on the premises. Outside, there are extensive landscaped grounds to explore, along with a shared patio equipped with outdoor furniture.
Inside, the property is heated throughout. The communal lounge features an inviting wood-burning fire, and there is also a billiards room, with a bar. The Scottish restaurant offers mouthwatering dishes, with many of the ingredients sourced directly from the estate. Breakfast is served buffet-style and comes with cereals, yogurt, fresh juices, excellent coffee, and a selection of cooked items. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all accommodations and public areas.

The Victorian Room can be a family room sleeping up to two extra children. As a family room, it is £114 per night. Please inquire if interested.

The property is close to five of the famous 7stanes venues, which are some of the world's best mountain bike trails, with a ride to suit every level. Walking and hiking paths are also in abundance here, and glampers can choose between leisurely strolls along sandy beaches, invigorating cliff top walks, or rugged hikes through the forest, and up hills and mountains. The scenery is spectacular in this part of the world. Keen anglers will be able to fish for trout and salmon in the local lochs, and golf enthusiasts can tee off at one of the numerous courses close to the property.
Those looking for adventure might enjoy a thrilling ride on one of Europe's longest zip-lines, which can be found at the Laggan Outdoor Centre. This venue also offers Segway experiences, clay shooting, and archery. The Galloway Activity Centre provides kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and a climbing wall. There are also excursion companies in the area that offer jet skiing and water skiing.
As well as a great selection of shops and restaurants, the area has many museums, art galleries, and historic places for guests to discover. There are several castles and stately homes within easy reach of the property. Some are superbly preserved, and some are ruins, but all of these sites provide fascinating glimpses of the area's rich and colorful past.
