Glamping in Lewes, Delaware: Luxury Camping & Unique Getaways in USA

Searching for unique getaways in USA? Lewes, Delaware is known as the "First Town in the First State," and has a long and fascinating nautical history. Dutch seamen landed in Lewes in 1631 and established the first settlement, and it has been shaped and formed by the water ever since. The town is located where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean (Cape Henlopen), which makes it ideal for swimming in both bay and ocean beaches. Head to the Lewes–Rehoboth Canal for easy access to either the bay or the ocean for anglers, and to Cape Henlopen State Park for an excellent beach and several hiking trails. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is well worth the visit, as is the Zwaanendael Museum where you can learn more about the first settlers of the region.
