This serene and rustic tree house is located in the middle of a forest in Grantsville, Maryland. It is a few minutes away from Savage River State Forest, and less than half an hour away from Deep Creek Lake and Big Savage Mountain. The tree house can accommodate up to five guests, perfect for couples and families looking for a unique outdoor retreat. In the master bedroom, couples can fall asleep to the sound of raindrops hitting the metal roof on the plush double bed. Kids can sleep on the twin-over-double bunk bed in the upstairs loft. Soft, high-quality linens are provided for all the beds. After a long day of hiking through the forest or swimming in the lake, guests can rinse off in the shower in the full bathroom. The bathroom also includes a toilet, a sink, and a set of fresh towels.
The tree house is infused with a cozy, warm ambiance thanks to its barn wood detailing, copper seam metal roof, and Amish-handmade hickory bark furniture. When guests arrive, they will find a snug living room with two comfortable couches. The living room flows into a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area. The kitchen comes with a mini-fridge, a microwave, a toaster, and a coffeemaker. Dishes and cooking utensils are provided. The breakfast bar can seat up to four guests, and they can eat meals as they watch birds or squirrels flit between the soaring pines trees outside, beneath the warm glow of a chandelier with vintage bulb glass jar lighting.
Outside, there is a wraparound and partially-shaded deck. Guests can sit back on the nice patio furniture, breathe in the fresh pine air, and take in the views of the majestic woodlands surrounding the tree house. The deck is the perfect place to watch birds and view wildlife, to just simply relax after a long day of outdoor adventure. Below the tree house is a private lounge area with a hanging swing and a fire pit. Here, guests can roast marshmallows for s'mores, curl up with a good book, or gaze at the stars between the canopy of evergreens.
Both tree houses come with furnished decks and a private outdoor lounge area with a swing and fire pit. Free parking is available onsite. Inside both tree houses, there is a fully-equipped kitchen with a dining area. The tree houses are safe and equipped with electricity and hot running water. The property has limited cell service connection.

The tree houses are next to Savage River State Forest, where guests can go hiking, cycling, and horseback riding along scenic nature trails passing through rugged mountains and lush pine forests. One of these trails is the popular and beautiful Meadow Mountain Trail. Additionally, guests can ride mountain bikes, ATVs, and other off-road vehicles through the park. They can hike and climb up Big Savage Mountain, or canoe, kayak, and fish along the Savage River. In the winter, the trails are suitable for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Guests are allowed to hunt within designated zones inside the park.
The tree houses are also close to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland's largest lake. Deep Creek Lake State Park provides three playgrounds for kids and two beaches for swimming and picnics. Guests can also go canoeing, kayaking, boating, and paddle-boarding on the lake. A few scenic nature trails wind through the forest edging the lake. These trails are perfect for hiking, biking, watching birds, and viewing wildlife.
Guests will only be 20 minutes away from the popular Wisp Ski Resort. In the winter, guests can go downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as snowboarding, snowshoeing, snow tubing, and ice skating. They can ride a chair lift to take photos of the alpine wilderness, or go on a unique roller coaster in the mountains. There are plenty more fun activities at Wisp Ski Resort during warmer seasons. Guests can go climbing, rappelling, and biking in the mountains, or zip-lining over the evergreen canopies. They can also play golf or learn archery. Additionally, guests can go kayaking or whitewater rafting along a river that runs by the resort, or head to Deep Creek Lake for scenic boat tours and bike rides. The resort features a wide selection of bars, cafes, shops, and restaurants for guests to enjoy.
Grantsville offers a wide variety of shops and restaurants, as well as conveniences like grocery stores and medical services. Guests can tour museums and many historic log cabins or mills from the town's early days as an Amish settlement.
