This fantastic location offers superb activities in every season. During the summer, guests can find a popular swimming hole just a few minutes' drive from the property. The Flume is a series of completely natural waterfalls, popular with both visitors and residents. It is the main attraction of the Flume Trail System. Also great for swimming and relaxing is Wilmington Town Beach, which has a playground, a picnic area, and a boat launch. It's possible to kayak in the waters, but the river is better known for its hiking trails and fishing. Keen fishermen can find many spots that are perfect for fly fishing and can hope to reel in trout.
Another lovely place to visit in Wilmington is High Falls Gorge. This natural attraction features over 700 feet of rushing water, steep cascades, and high cliffs. There is a small hamlet in Wilmington named the North Pole, which is the home of Santa's Workshop, a Christmas-themed amusement park, with storybook characters, music, live performances, reindeer, and even more holiday entertainment.
Whiteface Mountain is located just a short drive from the property and is considered New York's premier ski resort, so guests will have a greater selection of runs and activities here. There are 87 runs, for all abilities, 11 lifts, and five terrain parks, as well as summer activities, such as mountain biking, guided hikes, yoga, and disc golf.
In the nearby towns and cities, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, and Plattsburgh, glampers will find a vast array of shopping and dining options, with something to suit every taste. There will also be information available on the best hiking trails, canoeing areas, golf courses, and other attractions. Saranac Lake is popular for its live music scene, with performances taking place in the local parks and late night venues. Plattsburgh boasts fantastic outlet shopping and movie theaters.
