This cottage rental in the Shenandoah Valley sits hidden in a walnut grove near the James River. The renovated 1908 farmhouse offers eight guests the chance to rest and relax while they enjoy all the area has to offer. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms for guests. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a private bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, two bedrooms each have two twin beds, and the last bedroom has one full bed.
The kitchen of the cottage is modern and fully equipped, with plenty of space to prepare meals and appliances such as a coffeemaker, a microwave, and an oven. Guests will love relaxing in the second floor TV room or in the ground floor living room, which has a gas fireplace to warm up in front of in the winters. The back porch of the property is a great outdoor space, where guests can grill and dine al fresco while the enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook that runs nearby.
Guests staying here have linens and towels provided for them. The property is fitted with both air conditioning and heating, and there is even a fireplace in the living room. Best of all, bicycles and canoes are available by request.

This part of Virginia is a fantastic place to go glamping, with spectacular natural geological formations, rolling mountains, water activities, and so much more. Guests staying here should definitely take a trip to see the Natural Bridge. This 215-foot-high natural arch will wow visitors and leave them in awe of the true power of the great outdoors. After this, guests can hop in the car for a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, where they are sure to capture some amazing snapshots of the mountains and foliage, no matter the season.
There are hundreds of miles of trails weaving their way through the Blue Ridge Mountains the National Forest, and allow guests to really explore the area on foot. Guests can try hiking part of the Famed Appalachian Trail, which runs nearby the property. From Apple Orchard Falls to Jennings Creek is a popular section to hike and runs just over 12 miles. Around Roanoke, there are also many waterfalls to hike to. Popular hikes include the Cascade Falls or Roaring Run Falls hikes. Last, but not least, when summer comes and the temperatures rise, guests should certainly rent a canoe or kayak to paddle the James River and enjoy the water.
