The cottage features a screened porch with patio furniture and wonderful views of the surrounding woodland. A sundeck is located in the front side of the house, with great views of the mountain. In the yard behind the cottage are two charcoal grills, a picnic table, and a fire pit for guest use. Glampers can look forward to returning to the rental after a busy day of excursions and activities, and then relaxing in the hot tub followed by an evening cooking up s'mores over the fire pit.

Guests of this charming, private, year-around vacation rental property can relax in front of the satellite television and have access to a DVD/Blu-Ray player, audio CD, VCR, FM/AM stereo radio, LP audio, two clock radios, a telephone, and free secure wireless internet/Wi-Fi. Guests have free local calls from the wired telephone. Also, most cell phones will work at the property.

Air conditioning, electric baseboard heat (with thermostats in each room), a wall-mounted gas-fueled space heater (as a back-up in the event of a winter power outage), and a cozy gas-log fireplace keep the cottage at the ideal temperature for any time of year.

This cozy, furnished cottage has a full kitchen with a full-size four-burner cook-top stove with a large oven, a large refrigerator/freezer, a four-slice toaster, a microwave and toaster ovens, two electric coffee makers, pots, dishes, flatware, miscellaneous utensils, and a full-size dining table. Guests to this family-friendly and eco-friendly cottage will find two barbecue/charcoal grills and grilling s'more tools. Also behind the cottage is a fire pit, a large picnic table, and a hot tub and tiki torches available for guest enjoyment. The cottage is surrounded by ten private, wooded acres to explore during a stay.

Information is provided on local events/activities, local maps, shopping areas, eating establishments, historical sites, and a nearby covered bridge. An assortment of books, magazines, DVDs, board games, and puzzles is also provided for guest use. Area hiking trails info is available, as is informal hiking access to the adjacent George Washington National Forest.

Prior to arrival, guests are provided with specific directions to locate the cottage from the town of Luray and from the nearby interstate highway, suggestions on en route sightseeing and alternate driving routes into the area, a detailed listing of the contents of the cottage, and suggestions for items to bring to help make their visit most enjoyable.

A large level, grassy, tree-lined side yard is available for children and pets to play, and for yard games. Plenty of room is available for parking in the driveway alongside the cottage. The property is screened from the entrance road by trees.

Generally, there is lots of wildlife to see at the property; the hosts feed the birds, have a salt lick/salt block, and put out "sweet corn" for the deer. Guests should bring a camera, binoculars, and/or a telescope for "birding", and for viewing of the generally-dark, night sky.

Guests should leave firearms securely locked up at home, however, trap/skeet shooting nearby can be arranged.
