For those interested in wine and viticulture, Chateau Morrisette, Virginia's largest winery, and Villa Appalachia are both within five miles of the property. Chateau Morrisette hosts musical festival throughout the summer, as well as free Sunday concerts at the grounds. Friday nights should definitely be spent in the town of Floyd, home of the famous Friday Night Jamboree.
Guests hoping to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings will love the trails on offer around the Blue Ridge Parkway and they can take a stroll down the well-worn path beside Rock Castle Gorge. For a more exhilarating hike, guests should head to Buffalo Mountain and climb the 4000-foot peak, where there are expansive 360-degree views on offer.
The whole family can enjoy a visit to Fairy Stone Lake and experience the only place to find the mystical Fairy Stone, or sink a hook in the Keibler Valley for mountain trout.
