Set near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay near the idyllic port town of Onancock, Virginia, this waterfront rental is perfect for a quiet escape away from the daily grind, consisting of two spectacular cottages. Between six bedrooms and six bathrooms, the entire rental can accommodate up to 16 guests at a time.
Formerly a farmhouse, the main cottage features quintessential East Coast architecture as well as a rich history dating back to 1654 as part of the original Jamestown colony. Over the centuries, the farmhouse has been lovingly maintained, restored, and repurposed into the charming vacation cottage it stands as today.
The main house includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The three bedrooms are arranged as a master suite, with one room outfitted with a king-size bed, one with two twin beds, and the final with two beds, a full-size and a queen-size. There are also four bathrooms, as well as an outdoor shower.
The main house features two spacious living rooms, outfitted with comfortable sofas and a television, and are adjoined by a screen porch that includes a table for dining surrounded by uninterrupted panoramic views of the water. The kitchen is fully-equipped and has a dining table. Outside, guests have access to the lovely deck, outfitted with patio furniture, which overlooks the water.
The cottage is just 50 feet away and includes an additional three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms are outfitted with king-size beds and one of them (on the main floor) has a private bathroom. The third bedroom is upstairs and has 2 single beds. The living room includes a television, as well as plenty of seating room. There is also a second well-equipped kitchen, which opens to the beautiful deck outside and overlooks the creek. There is a gas and a charcoal grill for afternoon cookouts.
There are a number of amenities to elevate the experience of any guest staying here, including air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi connectivity, and more. Towels and linens will be provided.
There is a private dock and boat ramp, complete with two kayaks, sailboat, water toys, and life preservers available for guest use.
