The cottage is also furnished with an antique chest of drawers and an oversized high-backed armchair, as well as a full kitchenette where glampers can prepare their meals. In the living area, there is a cozy sofa facing the television and wood-stove, perfect for warming up at night in front of a movie after a long day exploring the area around Schuyler.

The cottage is in close proximity to the outdoor patios, hot tub, and gardens, meaning glampers can maintain their privacy while staying within walking distance of the lodge’s various amenities. In the mornings, guests will enjoy a breakfast of Belgian waffles, pancakes, toast, scrambled vegetables, fruit, coffee and tea, all organically prepared from vegan ingredients.

At the farm, glampers can enjoy their vegan breakfasts in the morning before heading out for a stroll down to the pond. In the afternoons, guests can soak in the hot tub while the sheltered pigs roam around the lawn, and the birds chirp overhead in the trees. Glampers can also take fishing poles and bait down to the creek and leisurely fish for a few hours.

In and around Schuyler, glampers will find plenty of options for entertainment and recreation as well. On the James River in the warmer months, guests can go kayaking or white water rafting with one of the guide companies from Charlottesville, or hike to Crabtree Falls or through the mountains of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wineries like Afton Mountain, Hill Berry Farm & Winery, and Mountain Cove are all great options for an afternoon of wine tasting with scenic views, while any of Charlottesville’s breweries will provide glampers with an opportunity to try the area’s various craft beers. Charlottesville also boasts a number of shopping and dining options, many of which are located on the Downtown Mall, also home to concerts in the summer and fall with the city’s Fridays after Five.
