This area of Virginia is undoubtedly full of opportunities for outdoor adventures. Lake Moomaw and Douthat State Park offer plenty resources for fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, camping, and, of course, horseback riding—not to mention one of the most pristine settings of the entire country.
During the winter, glampers will definitely have options to ski and snowboard in the best slopes of West Virginia. And for those who are into history and trains, the Cass Scenic Railroad trip takes them to the days when logging drove the Allegheny Mountains' economy.
There are also many quaint towns with great dining options, museums, music festivals, and so much more.
