This gorgeous vacation rental on a farm can accommodate up to 15 guests in its ample rooms, perfect for family reunions or special occasions in Ames, Iowa. The lodge has six bedrooms, four of which contain queen-sized beds, while the remaining two are furnished with either a full bed or bunk beds for glampers with children. Each bedroom is furnished with a flat-screen TV, small breakfast table, and high-backed chairs as well, allowing guests to eat their breakfast privately or in front of the television in the mornings. One of the bedrooms has a private balcony with patio chairs and a table. There are four full bathrooms equipped with standing showers, sinks, toilets. Linens and towels are kindly provided.
Breakfast is included, which is served every morning in the dining room. There is an additional terrace area behind the main lodge with chairs and a fire pit, perfect for getting together in the evening for roasting some s'mores and swapping stories. Guests can also enjoy the screened-in porch where they can hear the water and admire the lovely gardens and view of the meandering Skunk River nearby. There are barbecue grills to use for summer cook-outs, and fire pits to light up in the evening. Guests have access to the house's main family room, living room, screened-in porch, and large spacious kitchen. The laundry facilities can be used with permission from the hosts.
Outside, guests can use the large front patio, furnished with chairs, a large picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire pit. Guests can also use the north deck, the lower water garden patio, and the west yard patio. The immediate surroundings include three big yards where guests can participate in various yard games. The house sits on a 12-acre site with several short trails and direct access to the river. Guests also have access to the adjacent farm that has approximately five miles of trails, including a 50 house bluebird trail and 30 acres of restored prairie. County parks with extensive trails are within one mile of the property.

This charming bed and breakfast is situated in the beautiful Skunk River Valley in central Iowa, about 20 minutes from the town of Ames. The Skunk River also runs through the property yard, allowing guests to fish, kayak, canoe, raft, and tube without having to venture far. In the winter, guests can go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing either on the property or at nearby county parks and Skunk River Greenbelt. On the Skunk River, guests can take kayaks,canoes, and tubes onto the water. Anglers should be sure to bring their equipment. Ames is also worth a visit, with its art museums, major university events, public gardens, and brewing companies attracting tourists from all over throughout the year.
