The cottage is just a 10-minute drive from the village of Beaver Island, where guests will find restaurants, shops, and attractions such as the Beaver Island Historical Society Museum, the Beaver Island Toy Museum, and the Beaver Island Harbor Light. To reach Beaver Island, guests can travel by private plane or Island Airways charter flight to the island's Welke Airport. Alternatively, they can take the Beaver Island Ferry, which can also transport their vehicles and bicycles. Both the ferry and the charter flight service depart from Charlevoix, Michigan, which is about three hours and 15 minutes from Flint, Michigan, where the nearest international airport is located.

For biking, guests will find a variety of scenic routes to enjoy on the island's mixture of paved roads, clay/gravel roads, and backwoods logging roads.
