This beachside cottage rental is located right on Big Sand Bay on Beaver Island, Michigan, and can accommodate six guests for an idyllic getaway. The cottage has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each of the bedrooms is furnished with a queen-size bed. There is also a queen-size sofa bed on which guests can sleep. Linens are provided.
Guests will find a shower in the first bathroom and a combination bathtub/shower in the second bathroom. The living/dining room is furnished with a sofa, a flat-screen television, and a six-person dining table backdropped by a large array of windows providing panoramic views of Lake Michigan. This cottage is located on Beaver Island, Michigan, where it is situated right on the beach of Big Sand Bay. Here, guests will be just footsteps from a scenic swimming beach, while at the same time being close to island attractions such as the Beaver Island Golf Course, the Central Michigan University Biological Station, and Little Sand Bay Nature Preserve. The biological station holds occasional courses that are open to the public, while the nature preserve encompasses 118 acres of thick cedar swamp, conifer forest, and sand dune habitats that are home to endangered and threatened species such as the Lake Huron tansy wildflower.
Many more natural areas can be found throughout the island, which is laced with an extensive network of trails, dotted with inland lakes, surrounded by pristine coastal habitats, and safeguarded by a number of other preserves, such as the George and Althea Petritz Nature Preserve, Barney's Lake Nature Preserve, and Conn's Cove Nature Preserve. The cottage is just a 10-minute drive from the village of Beaver Island, where guests will find restaurants, shops, and attractions such as the Beaver Island Historical Society Museum, the Beaver Island Toy Museum, and the Beaver Island Harbor Light. To reach Beaver Island, guests can travel by private plane or Island Airways charter flight to the island's Welke Airport.
