This beautiful cottage rental is situated near Keweenaw National Historic Park and downtown Calumet, Michigan, and can accommodate up to eight guests. The cottage has two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the second has a double bed. Extra sleeping spaces are provided by two sleeper sofas. The bathroom is equipped with a toilet, a sink, and a shower. Linens, artisan soaps, and towels are kindly provided by the host.

In the inviting living room, guests will find original hardwood maple floors, a 32-inch television with a DVD player, plush seating, and a beautiful piano, a great place to kick back and relax with friends or family. For further relaxation, there is a sauna, shared with other guests, a short walk away from the cottage. The full kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, a glass-top stove, an oven, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a refrigerator, and a freezer. Guests can enjoy meals around the dining table with seating for four. Other amenities include a video library and stereo system, a washer and dryer, a private garage, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Outside, there is a charming screened-in porch with two cozy lounge chairs and plentiful windows, providing views of the surrounding landscape. Guests will be a short walk from the beach, where they will find a fire pit with seating and a barbecue grill with a picnic area. There is no better spot to roast s'mores under the night sky and perhaps even get a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

This lovely property is nestled in the lush landscape of Michigan's Upper Peninsula near Lake Superior. Although the peaceful setting of this property may feel remote, guests will be just a few miles from the historic neighboring town of Calumet. Guests will be just under an hour from Copper Harbor, 40 minutes from Mt. Bohemia, 15 minutes from McLain State Park, less than 10 minutes from Swedetown, and only five minutes from Keweenaw National Historical Park. There are numerous beaches dotting the pristine coastline, which guests can easily access by car or bicycle. Guests will be a 20-minute drive from dining and entertainment in the popular towns of Houghton and Hancock.

With such close proximity to Lake Superior and Keweenaw National Historical Park, this is the ideal spot for glampers seeking outdoor recreation and adventure. On the beach, guests can build a bonfire under the night sky and perhaps even get a glimpse of the Northern Lights. The lake provides excellent conditions for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing as well. The Keweenaw Peninsula is home to a number of scenic hiking, mountain biking, and ATV trails winding through the rugged landscape. For a more relaxing activity, guests can head one of the area's beautiful golf courses.

During colder months, the area is transformed into a winter wonderland with a plethora of options for winter sports and activities. Guests can go downhill or cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and snowboarding at one of several nearby resorts or ski areas. Guests will be less than 10 minutes from the Swedetown Nordic Ski Trails and half an hour from Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. Mount Bohemia, known as the Midwest’s premier ski resort, is 40 minutes away featuring 650 acres of picturesque snowy terrain.

Guests can learn about the rich history of the gold mining era at numerous museums and galleries, some of which are housed in buildings dating back to the mid-1800’s. Other great ways to experience the local culture include observing the eight stunning lighthouses dotting the peninsula, catching a show at the historic Calumet Theater, or taking a scenic drive to explore nearby ghost towns. Guests will have an array of dining options for indulging in delicious regional cuisine, as well as many local boutiques and antique stores for shopping.
