Nestled within a wooded setting, the cabin is just one mile from Warren Dunes State Park. Here, guests will find three miles of shoreline, six miles of trails, and 1,952 acres of parkland, which is dominated by sand dunes that rise upward of more than 200 feet into the air.
Other nearby beaches and state parks include Weko Beach, Silver Beach, Union Pier Beach, and Grand Mere State Park, which boasts two miles of sandy beach, three lakes dating back to the last ice age, and 985 acres of woodlands and sand dunes. About 15 minutes to the northeast, guests will find over a dozen wineries, breweries, and distilleries around the towns of Baroda, Buchannan, Bridgman, and Berrien Springs. The latter is also home to Fisherman's Haven nature preserve and the Robert and Lillis Kingman Observatory, which is open to the public two to three weekends per month. For dining, guests will find options right in Sawyer and around all of the towns mentioned above.

With Warren Dunes State Park just a mile to the north of the cabin, Grand Mere State Park just a 12-minute drive away, and a number of beaches along the coast of Lake Michigan nearby, guests will be well-positioned to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. For swimming, guests can visit the beaches of the two state parks, as well as Weko Beach, Silver Beach, and Union Pier Beach.
At Warren Dunes State Park, guests can also go stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking in Lake Michigan, with rentals available right at the park. With its tall dunes and favorable wind conditions, the park is also a popular site for hang gliding. The park is also well-suited for guests bringing canine companions, as one of its beaches is dog-friendly. Guests interested in hiking will find six miles of trails at Warren Dunes State Park. There are also trails for hiking and cross-country skiing at Grand Mere State Park, which has a dog-friendly beach as well.
For wine, beer, and spirit tasting, guests can visit the many wineries, breweries, and distilleries in Baroda, Buchannan, Bridgman, and Berrien Springs. At the latter, guests can also go fishing at the appropriately named Fisherman's Haven and stargaze at the Robert and Lillis Kingman Observatory.
