Pet-Friendly Cabin for a Family Getaway near Huron Forest, Michigan
This pet-friendly cabin rental is located on a beautiful lake resort in South Branch, near Huron National Forest, Michigan, and can comfortably accommodate six guests, making it perfect for a family getaway. There are two bedrooms and a full bathroom. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed and a dresser. The remaining two sleeping spaces are provided by the sleeper sofa, and the hosts provide towels and linens, along with some basic kitchen supplies.
The open design of the living area connects it with the kitchen and dining spaces, making anywhere on the couch, chair, floor, or the kitchen table a great position for conversation and togetherness. The plush floral couch transforms into a full-size sleeper to accommodate more guests. There is a cable TV for guests to use, and there is a heating and cooling system to keep guests comfortable. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with an oven, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a toaster, and cookware. The very best part of the cabin can be found in the sun room, a room with comfortable chairs and enough Vitamin D to last guests for weeks. The gorgeous room, with its wall of windows, looks out across the lake and provides an ideal space for creativity and relaxation.
Although there is a stylish retro table with four chairs in the middle of the kitchen, life on the lake is meant to be lived outdoors, which means lots of quality time spent cooking on the barbecue grill, and relaxing in chairs outside and/or at the private picnic table just outside the lakeside entryway. Guests can rent kayaks and paddle boats for some fun on the lake.
The hosts provide a few garbage bags, hand and dish soap, and some towels for guests to use during their stay. Any other amenities guests might need are available at the on-site store. Guests will find great facilities provided for their enjoyment, from a large sandy beach to a volleyball court, along with horseshoe pits and a safe area for kids to play while their parents soak up the sun.
Guests each have their own assigned barbecue grill for cooking out on the waterfront, as well as their own rowboat. Finally, guests are granted access to a shed that houses life jackets, water toys, games, and bikes, and are welcome to use the shared lakeside campfire pit for roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories.

- Water sports
Outdoor activities abound around the property and the surrounding area, making this an ideal vacation spot for nature and water lovers. Northern Michigan is known for some of the best fishing in the United States, and this property is no exception. Guests who cast their fishing rods into the lake might find walleye, bass, bluegill, pike and perch, all in one day.
For more fishing with a view, guests should be sure to visit Au Sable River, just a few miles from the cabins. Upon arrival, guests will have the option of cruising up and down the river on the Au Sable River Queen or scheduling a canoe trip, where guests will be able to explore the river and the wildlife surrounding it at their own pace.
Iargo Springs sits just beyond Au Sable River and makes for a great day trip. An observation deck provides guests with a stunning view of the river and forest surrounding it. The stairway leading guests to and from the deck guides visitors through gorgeous wildflowers, woods, and natural springs.
The area also has plenty of ORV trails for guests interesting in exploring via off-roading. The trails are relatively safe and have been traveled enough that they could be considered well-groomed, but no so well-groomed they'll take away the bumpy fun that is off-roading. Permits for these activities can be purchased in the store on-site.
East Tawas, a town about 30 minutes from the cabins, has charming shops and restaurants and is a great spot to visit for a day of window shopping and a change of scenery.
