From the lodge, guests can also venture into the small town of Ely, Minnesota, where they will find plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The city of Duluth is about two hours away to the south, offering bigger city amenities for guests interesting in seeing more of Minnesota. The border between the U.S. and Canada is also not far to the north, where the Superior National Forest merges into the nature preservation of Quetico, Ontario. Read More

Guests merely need to step outside the front door of their cabin to experience the beauty and excitement of the White Iron Lakes. In any of the four lakes that shore up to the lodge, guests can canoe, kayak, fish, or swim from the dock or the sand of the beaches. Glampers can go on a guided tour to glimpse some wildlife and learn about the area or have a fishing expert lead them to the best spots for Walleye, Crappies, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern Pike.
In Ely, guests can visit the International Wolf Center or the North American Bear Center for up close sightings of these stunning animals.
