This peaceful and cozy cottage is located in Herman, Minnesota, in the heart of the scenic Lakes Region. It can accommodate up to eight guests.

There are two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a lounge area. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed and an office space. The second bedroom has two double beds and two twin-size beds. The bathroom comes with a toilet, a sink, and a shower. Linens and towels are provided.

In the lounge area, guests will find a sofa, a foosball table, and a TV with a DVD player and an Xbox 360. The fully-equipped kitchen contains a fridge, a stove and oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a toaster, and a coffeemaker. Dishes and cooking utensils are provided. Other amenities include heating and air conditioning, wireless internet and Netflix, and binoculars for birdwatching.

Outside, there is a private deck with nice patio furniture, a fireplace, and a gas BBQ grill. After a long day of hiking and kayaking around the lakes, guests can warm up by the fireplace and enjoy the gorgeous views of the large pond surrounding the lodge.

The patio has a fireplace. Guests can take walks along the 27 acres of pond and protected wetlands around the lodge. Guests will have access to Wi-Fi and Netflix in the lodge. Parking is available near the lodge.

Situated in the heart of the state's Lakes Region, the lodge is close to several lakes including Burr Lake and Cottonwood Lake. It is less than 10 minutes away from Niemackl Lake Park. Herman is about half an hour away from Alexandria, and two and a half hours away from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The closest major airport is Hector International Airport in Fargo, North Dakota, which is about an hour and a half away from Herman.

The 27 acres of pond and wetlands around the lodge are home to many species of waterfowl like trumpeter swans, ducks, and pelicans, as well as songbirds like warblers. This makes the lodge an excellent place for birdwatching.

While fishing and swimming in the pond is prohibited, guests at the lodge will be near several large and pristine lakes in the area, like the Niemackl Lakes. Guests can visit the beaches at Niemackl Lake Park for swimming, boating, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. The park has several nature trails snaking around the lake and through acres of grassland for hiking, biking, and viewing wildlife like deer, beavers, and bison. Art lovers can view unique iron sculptures at the park, and families can take their children to the playground for a few hours of fun.

Additionally, guests can visit other nearby lakes like Burr and Cottonwood for more opportunities for boating, canoeing, and kayaking. Couples can tour and attend a wine tasting event at Burr Vineyards around Burr Lake.

Guests can head into the nearby town of Alexandria for shops, restaurants, golf courses, and movie theaters. Alexandria also has a bowling alley, a few antique stores, and some day spas. History buffs can see the famous Kensington Runestone or visit the Runestone Museum Foundation for exhibits on Viking and Native American history.
