Dogwood Canyon Nature Park lies about 10 minutes to the west, where guests will find a variety of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails winding through 10,000 acres of ravines, valleys, trout streams, waterfalls, natural pools, meadows, and forests filled with hardwoods, evergreens, and the dogwoods for which the park is named.
Table Rock State Park lies about 13 minutes to the north and is a popular destination for both land and water-based recreation, with a variety of watercraft available to rent and a system of hiking and biking trails that wind through forests filled with oaks, hickories, sycamores, and cottonwoods, which are punctuated by dolomite glades. The lake and the forests are home to white-tailed deer, red foxes, and great blue herons, while the glades are home to roadrunners and collared lizards.
