This bed and breakfast rental is located in Custer, South Dakota, and is perfect for a trip to the Black Hills. The room has some incredible hand-crafted furniture and makes guests feel right at home. The rental has plenty of room for two guests, with one bedroom and one ensuite bathroom. The bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed topped with forest-inspired linens and blankets, along with a large window with pine trim. Guests will see there is a cozy sitting area with two armchairs beside the bed, perfect for catching up on emails or doing some research for the next day's activities. The private bathroom is complete with an updated, slate tile walk-in shower with a rain shower head, a sink, and an outhouse-inspired toilet. At breakfast, guests can enjoy freshly brewed coffee, baked eggs with ham, German baked pancakes filled with stewed apples or fresh peaches, French toast covered in strawberries, freshly baked caramel rolls, scones, and muffins. Glampers must check out Mount Rushmore, a historic memorial of past presidents in the United States. This once a lifetime opportunity allows guests to finally see the memorial that has been featured in almost every history textbook guests have grown up with.
Within Custer State Park, guests can visit Sylvan Lake. This lake has been called the “gem” of the park by locals, and with its clear water surrounded by tall rocks and serene trees, it’s easy to see why. Afterwards, guests may stop by the Black Hills Burger and Bun Co for a juicy burger in a modern and updated environment.
Guests will be a short 15-minute drive to the Crazy Horse Memorial. Continuing the progress on the world’s largest sculptural undertaking by carving a Memorial of Lakota leader Crazy Horse, the Mountain is 6,532 ft and ranks 27th highest mountain in South Dakota. It is made of pegmatite granite and was chosen by Sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski & Lakota Chief Henry Standing Bear for the Crazy Horse Memorial.
The INDIAN MUSEUM OF NORTH AMERICA® and NATIVE AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL & CULTURAL CENTER® feature American Indian art and artifacts from tribes across North America and offer the opportunity for guests to be hands-on with “make & take” activities. In the summer guests enjoy visiting with Native American Artisans, watching American Indian dancers perform and learning more through our Thursday lecture series.
Within 30 minutes, guests can drive to Wind Cave National Park or Jewel Cave National Monument, two of the longest and most complex caves in the world.
Should glampers desire a bit longer drive, guests can easily spend a day at either Devils Tower National Monument or the Badlands National Park.
