The Rhinelander area is known for its parks and lakes and this cabin is near it all. The Pelican River is just a 13-minute drive away and the Holmoe Nature Preserve is 15 minutes away. This property is also near a number of national forests with the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest, the Ottowa National Park, and the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest all under one hour and a half away. Those that like to canoe and kayak will also be just a 40-minute drive to the Tomahawk River and a 50-minute drive to the Willow Reservoir. The Rhinelander area has a great mix of outdoor activities from hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and boating. Hike the Almon Park Trail or the Cassian County Two-Way Trail and enjoy the Northwoods forests and wilderness. Glampers that prefer to explore on two wheels will also love the mountain bike forest trails such as the CAVOC Trails and the Mud Lake Trail. During the Winter months, many of these trails turn into cross-country and snowshoeing trails. In the very centre of Rhineland, there are also an array of fishing and boating lakes that are famous for walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie fish. With winding rivers and quiet backwaters, there are also many paddling opportunities. The Willow Flowage covers 6,400 acres of undeveloped forest and is perfect for a true wilderness experience while the Pelican River flows beneath a number of highways and is great for a peaceful paddle.
The Rhinelander area also offers many indoor activities such as the Kovac Planetarium, the Pioneer Park Historical Complex, and the Rhinelander Historical Society Museum. During the Summer, glampers can't miss the annual Oneida County Fair and foodies will love the local Hodag Farmers’ Market and the Three Lakes Winery.
