In a forest of trees and expansive mountains, this elegant family mountain getaway offers privacy and seclusion when guests stay at this true mountain gem. As guests enter the log cabin, the high vaulted ceilings and log accents are reminiscent of a classic hunting lodge. The great room is at the center of the mountain cabin, with large, beautiful windows looking out to the mountains. At the heart of the great room are plush leather couches, a flat-screen TV, and a beautiful stone fireplace. The deluxe kitchen has granite countertops and an island with bar seating. Guests have all the modern appliances they might need to enjoy a late brunch or a family dinner together.
This Breckenridge, Colorado, cabin really has something for everyone. Guests can have a family tournament with some friendly competition in the game room with a pool table. When the winner is decided or the game heats up too much, guests can head outside to relax in the hot tub while the kids have a movie night in the loft. There are so many beautifully decorated common spaces and such great surroundings, guests will spend hardly any time in their bedrooms, however comfortable they may be. The property is just down the road from the town of Breckenridge, Colorado. With the stunning views of the Rocky Mountain peaks and the surrounding alpine landscape, guests will feel at right at home while relaxing in the luxurious, peaceful property. The Breckenridge Ski Resort, just next to the town, first opened in 1961 to allow skiers and snowboarders to take advantage of the impressive slopes of the Tenmile Range. Guests staying at the property can also visit famous peaks like Mount Guyot, Tenmile Peak, and Quandary Peak (or Mount Quandary) with a short drive through the surrounding White River, Grand Mesa, and Arapaho National Forests. Denver is just under two hours away to the east. For glampers who are flying from the Denver International Airport, or for those who are interested in seeing the city, Highway 70 leads from the center of the city all the way into the heart of Breckenridge. The Breckenridge area itself is ideal for avid skiers, hikers, and history lovers alike. There is an endless list of things to do during any season of the year, all outdoors. In the winter months, guests can ski or snowboard at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, or partake in cross country skiing, dog sledding, and snowmobiling. The resort also offers ice skating and ski schools. There are maintained trails for all abilities of skiers or snowboarders so that the whole family can enjoy a day on the mountain. During the summer months, guests can go fly fishing on the nearby Blue River or go hiking, summiting mountains like the nearby Tenmile Range or Mount Guyot. More leisurely trails are available to walkers who still want to stretch their legs and enjoy the surrounding landscape, too.
All year round, the ski resort also offers spa packages, theater performances, and hot air balloon rides over the mountain range. Guests can enjoy the local shops and live music in town or the yoga sessions and art workshops in the Breckenridge Art District. Breckenridge even celebrates Mardi Gras in February with a town procession through the square, Louisiana-style.
For those interested in the history of the Colorado town, guests can visit the many local museums, including the Barney Ford Victorian House, a converted home of an escaped slave. Guests can also go on guided tours of the town as well, or tour the 100-year old underground Country Boy Mine in the winter.
