Capulin

Capulin is a charming small town in Conejos County, Colorado. If you're looking for a taste of authentic rural Colorado, there's no better place to come. It is nestled between the dramatic peaks and lush forestland of the Rocky Mountains, and the awe-inspiring grasslands of the Great Plains - so visitors can enjoy both on their vacation. It is also highly ecologically diverse, with 73 species of birds, as well as mule deer, elk, black bears, coyotes, and even mountain lions! It is also close to the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge, which is ideal for hiking and wildlife watching. Farther afield are Blanca Peak and Cornwall Mountain, both excellent for hiking as well. And of course, Rio Grande National Forest is a mere day trip away!
