The kitchen has beautiful sanded wood cabinets with a marble island in the middle for preparing big meals. The living room, which occupies the same open main room as the kitchen, is furnished with a plush light grey sofa and armchair. The fireplace is situated in the corner between the two, allowing its warmth to reach guests regardless of where they are seated. There is another television in the corner, perfect for curling up with one of the movies from the DVD collection. This cheerful rental is located just a quarter mile outside of the base village of Purgatory Ski Resort, an impressive network of ski slopes and alpine lodge amenities in southwest Colorado about 30 minutes away from the town of Durango. The property is a few minutes from Columbine Lake, a small body of water that feeds into the larger Electra Lake, which is just a bit further to the south. Animus River also runs through the area, where visitors can kayak, swim, fish, and raft in the warmer months of the year. Durango and Purgatory Village are home to a number of boutique shops and delicious local restaurants, as well as art galleries and cultural centers with information about the historic region.
