Wine lovers will jump at the chance to explore Colorado's vineyards and the Palisade farmers’ market, which happens Sundays, June through September and is a great place to sample some of the best local produce including its famous peaches. The Colorado Riverfront Trail intersects with Palisade, so guests can easily cycle or walk along this beautiful waterway. Hikers can try their luck at scaling Mount Garfield which is a challenging hike with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet, but worth it for the spectacular views from the top.

The vast red rock structures of Colorado National Monument are under an hour by car and offer some of the state's most impressive vistas.
