Colorful and Cozy Ski Cabin Rental for Two on French Mountain near Red Cliff, Colorado
"Ben has built an excellent rustic cabin. I got lost on the hike up but no big deal - got there after a bit. The view can't be beat, the sunrises and …"
This cozy cabin is located near Red Cliff on the edge of French Mountain in Colorado and can accommodate four guests. The accommodation has a full-size bed and extra mattresses, sleeping a maximum of four guests. Sleeping bags are provided, but guests should bring their own sleeping bag liners. Guests should also bring their own waste disposal bags, which can be used with the folding NRS toilet at the cabin. There is a solar shower at the cabin, and the essentials are provided.
There is a small fireplace inside the cabin. Guests should bring their own 6-inch logs if they would like to make use of this. Guests should also bring their own food and water. There is a two-burner propane stove and another one-burner stove. Pots, pans, and utensils are also available for guests to use. Guests should bring green Coleman propane fuel for the two-burner stove and jetboil, MSR, or snowpeak fuel for the one-burner stove.
Outside, there is a fire pit for which guests should bring logs between eight inches and 16 inches in length, as well as checking local fire pans for Eagle County and White River National Forest.
Guests should note that in summer and fall, the hike into the cabin is about 2.5 miles in summer, unless guests have a 4x4 for off-roading with winch lift, 33-inch tires and lift, in which case they can drive to the property. In winter, the hike is 11 miles, or guests can opt to snowmobile in.
There is heating at the property, provided by the small fireplace inside the cabin (guests must bring their own wood). Running water is available outside the cabin during summer and fall at the stream (to be filtered). The whole cabin plus approximately a 30-foot surrounding area is all open for guest access. A fire pit outside is a great way to wind down and warm up after a long day of exploring the ski trails.
