The Trail of the Coeur d'Alene is one of the most spectacular trails in the western US. The Route of the Hiawatha is also highly recommended, as well as Silver Mountain. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in the local area, and Heyburn State Park is a great option for some exploring. Bird watching is extremely rewarding, with a great variety of avian life making it an inimitable experience. A wide variety of fish are also up for grabs in the area, and there are fishing tournaments throughout the year. Boating is available at the Harrison public boat launch, and guests can also take a floating trip down the St. Joe River.
