Folks can take a scenic drive through the impressive sandstone formations of Arches National Park or feast their eyes on the gaping canyons of Canyonlands National Park. Dead Horse Point State Park offers a wild trail ride for mountain bikers while the La Sal Mountains provide a refreshing change of scenery with shimmering streams and alpine forests of aspen and pine. In addition to mountain biking, there are places for hiking, horseback riding, rafting, rock climbing, golfing, and hot-air balloon rides. Bird lovers can enjoy opportunities for bird watching, too. There are even ski resorts for wintertime visitors.

The town of Moab is a buzzing hive of culture with fascinating museums and art galleries. It also has a vibrant nightlife with restaurants, theaters, wineries, and shops where glampers can wind down after a day of outdoor adventure. It also happens to be a popular site for moviemaking, having served as a shooting location for movies featuring the legendary John Wayne, in addition to a host of others. Movie buffs will delight in driving down local highways, spotting locations featured in their favorite movies. The area is also a treasure trove of dinosaur fossils, so kids can have fun at local paleontology museums and go on hikes featuring fossilized dinosaur tracks.
