Ever since the dawn of mass communication, Utah’s Monument Valley, a location that truly deserves the overused epithet “iconic”, has featured in media ranging from classic westerns to computer games, to the extent where this dramatic region with its evocatively eroded buttes and mesas, 5000 feet above sea level, has almost come to define the image of the American West in the popular imagination.
