Branford

Branford, Connecticut has a privileged position overlooking the stunning Thimble Islands and Long Island Sound. The Thimble Islands are an archipelago made up of 23 individual islands, ideal for kayaking, boating, and romantic getaways, and surprisingly not overwhelmed with hordes of tourists. It's also easy to get to, a mere twelve miles from New Haven, and a train ride from New York City. The town is home to several shops, restaurants and coffee houses, as well as various festivals and events throughout the year. Branford is also home to over twenty miles of stunning coastline, with numerous marinas. Make sure to sample some of the delicious local seafood as well!
