This lakefront vacation rental is located near Salmon River State Forest, Connecticut, and can accommodate up to 6 guests making it perfect for families. If necessary there is space for two extra children. Inside the property is three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. All bedrooms hold a king-size bed, with luxury pillow top mattresses, 750 thread-count sheets, and allergen-reducing bedding. The first floor bedroom and the master suite both have televisions with DVD players and basic cable. The upstairs bedroom boasts a lake view with a small patio for guests to relax, and as well as the king-size bed is a twin bunk bed for children. There is also two additional roll-away beds available for extra children.
The first floor bathroom contains a bath/shower combination with a closet washer and dryer. The second bathroom is accessed directly from the master suite and holds a stall shower and a clawfoot bathtub for guests to relax after along day of adventure. Both bathrooms are provided with essentials toiletries including shampoo, soap, and tissues. Other amenities included are a handheld steamer, an iron, ironing board, and a hairdryer.
The vacation rental has been outfitted with amenities to make guests feel as comfortable as possible during their stay. The kitchen allows guests to cook delicious dinners and serve them upon the large dining table perfect to fit the whole family. A Keurig coffee machine, including pods, is provided allowing guests to brew a cup of coffee in the morning. Situated right on the scenic shores of Lake Pocotopaug, this lakefront cottage is located in East Hampton, Connecticut. From the cottage's many windows and its lakeside hammock, porch, and dock, guests can see the 512-acre, tree-lined lake beckoning them to swim, fish, boat, paddle, or simply enjoy the view. The lake is home to many species of fish, including black crappie, yellow perch, brown bullhead, and largemouth bass.
To the east of the lake, guests will find Salmon River State Forest, where they will find hiking trails, fishing spots, and Comstock's Bridge, which was built in 1840 and is the only covered bridge that still remains in eastern Connecticut. At the south end of the lake, guests will find a variety of shops and restaurants in downtown East Hampton. The cottage is only 26 minutes from Hartford, where guests will find the nearest international airport and attractions such as the Mark Twain House and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.
From downtown East Hampton, guests can hike or bike the scenic Air Line Trail State Park. Plan a date night with dinner at the Gelston House, followed by a show at the historic Goodspeed Opera House on the CT River. Glampers can dine, shop and try their luck at Mohegan Sun Casino. They can also visit the shops at Marlborough Barn for some comfort food from Sadler's Ordinary. Nearby, Belltown Hill Orchards is the place to pick seasonal produce like apples, blueberries, cherries, and peaches.

Right from the cottage's dock, guests can go swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boating on Lake Pocotopaug. The cottage provides guests with a complimentary canoe, sit-on-top kayaks, and a paddleboat, as well as life vests and lake towels. Paddleboards and fishing boats can be rented from Happiest Paddler.
For hiking, guests can head to Salmon River State Forest. Here, they will find the 6.7-mile Salmon River Trail and a portion of the Air Line State Park Trail. The river and its tributaries also provide opportunities for fishing, and the surrounding land provides grounds for hunting.
