This cozy cabin rental is located near the Saco River in Maine and can accommodate five guests for a peaceful getaway to a bucolic, 50-acre property in the countryside between the White Mountains and the Lakes Region of Maine. Inside the cottage, guests will find two bedrooms, one full bathroom, a living/dining area, and a kitchenette. Built in a post and beam construction-style, clad with barn board walls, and furnished with a variety of antiques, collectibles, and memorabilia, the cabin has plenty of rustic character. It is also imbued with a sense of history, having served as a dance hall and a speakeasy in the 1920s and a barrel making shop in the 1940s.
In the first bedroom, guests will find a queen-size bed and an air conditioner. The second bedroom is furnished with a pair of twin beds and a fold-out couch that can accommodate two guests. The bathroom contains a shower, a toilet, and a sink. Linens and towels are provided.
In the living/dining area, guests will find a futon, a four-person dining table, a fireplace, and an oak bar that seats four. The kitchenette is equipped with an oven, a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a coffeemaker. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, cable television, ironing equipment, and a crib.
Outside, guests will find a lush meadow in which they can have a picnic, woodlands laced with nature trails on which they can go on tranquil walks, a natural spring from which they can fill their bottles with fresh drinking water, and an organic garden to which they can help themselves to produce such as corn, tomatoes, beans, and cucumbers in the summer and early fall.
