Phippsburg is nestled along the coast and is popular for having a beautiful Atlantic Ocean shoreline. Swimming and other water activities are great, especially in Popham Beach State Park. The beach is long and is bordered by two rivers, the Kennebec and the Morse. The Kennebec River stretches about 170 miles and is famous for whitewater rafting and fishing. The shorter Morse River, only two miles long, is part of the Bates-Morse Mountain Conservation Area which offers a terrific hiking trail to the highest point of Phippsburg, the Eyrie. Here, visitors can catch a glimpse of the stunning vista of the town's majestic coast.
