This spacious tipi for rent in Lyman, New Hampshire, is perfect for a unique camping getaway in New England. The tipi can comfortably sleep six adults; for hanging out, it can easily fit about a dozen adults. There is room to pitch a tent near the tipi for overflow sleeping space. The tipi is about 22 feet in diameter and 24 feet tall. It has a fire pit in the center to create that wonderful ambiance of an open, crackling fire.
The comfortable furnishings consist of four five-foot-long log couches, plus two more outside. These are basically high-end wooden benches. There are also several end tables, sleeping platforms,and tables that can be arranged to form two twin beds or one queen-size bed. Guests are encouraged to bring their own padding and blankets. Located near Littleton, New Hampshire, this property is set on 31 acres of private land, as well as close proximity to the 250-acre Hobbs Fern Sanctuary. Guests will find a couple of beaver ponds, all of which both attract local birds and offer views of the rolling hills nearby.
Guests will enjoy the nearby woods, which are home to plenty of deer, turkeys, partridges, and even moose. Guests who stay here can enjoy everything from hiking to kayaking in this area. Just a quarter-mile above the tipi is a beautiful ridge providing gorgeous views out to the Presidential mountains and Franconia Ridge. There are plentiful valleys where mushrooms, wildflowers, ferns, raspberries, and blackberries grow wild. At the nearby Hobbs Fern Sanctuary, there are about four miles of trails, including a Cliff Loop that first brings guests along the base of a tall ledge and then up over its top. The sanctuary has two ponds and plenty of pretty ferns and wildflowers. For those that are musically inclined, it's fun to bring acoustic instruments and enjoy them around the campfire in the tipi.
The White Mountains of New Hampshire are nearby, as are many hiking and walking opportunities both locally, as well as in Vermont. Other fun activities in the area include shopping, checking out waterfalls and covered bridges, getting lost in a corn maze, or swimming or paddling in the ponds and lakes.
